Gym Rat! Voila!

Check out the picture down there! My 80lb English Mastiff/Pit Bull. Goliath. Gmoney$. Goli. More on him later.

So Curves. Loved it. Wanted to join but wanted to shop around before committing. Body and Soul gym popped up next on GroopBuy. I think I was one of the first to buy it and couldn't wait to go when it was ready to print! There I was, standing at the door of this much larger gym that was no longer all women. This would be interesting! So when you join for the month- the deal was 50nis for 1 month of unlimited access and classes- you get a personal trainer to help you with a routine. Oleg was not only super intimidating, but he also looked like "The Hulk". I was not going to disappoint him or myself for my first day there. He told me to do 30 minutes cardio then 10x3 reps for the various machines. I had a little taste of machines from Curves, so this was not as foreign to me as I thought it would be. The elliptical was my choice. It really doesn't even feel like you are working out, it's like a space machine that bounces for you until after 30 minutes your sweating like crazy. I switched off between this and the treadmill. 30 minutes seems like a nightmare. UNTIL you switch on the tv that has YES cable and has shows, drama movies, action, comedy, music videos and old "I Love Lucy" re-runs to choose from. I do not have a tv at home.

Dear Body and Soul, because I get to work out and watch tv, I'm yours!

So I join! There I am, laughing at Israeli "movie of the week", jamming out to the latest Rihanna video and I even catch a Mel Gibson action movie. 30 minutes of cardio easily turns into an hour. Thank you, YES. Toda B&S for making my cardio a little more fun. Next machines. Say what? I used the free weights, the squeeze your thighs together machine, the get rid of my 'arm waving' fat machine, leg press and arm press. I'll get better at the gym terms some day! Until then, I'm enjoying my favorite time of the day (which gives me so much energy) with all of the other gym rats.  This one is a keeper. Thank you to GroopBuy- I would have never gone in had it not been for the deal.

I almost forgot.... my dog! One of the main reasons why I wanted to join a gym, (among a million other reasons) was so that I could muster up enough motivation and energy to run him. My hubbs and I have hired dog runners to take him out on his 2nd (of 3) walks of the day. Now I run with him in the morning and it's awesome. I've been wanting to do this now for the last 2 years and it is only because I have joined Body and Soul than I know can run my k9. Who knows? Maybe I'll think about thinking about doing a marathon. :)

Manicure Virgin

Most of my friends in Israel get manicures on the weekly. Growing up the girls from school got them. In college (Private all girl's school) it was a sin if you didn't and in New York your nails better be done or else.  I'm in my 20's and I've never had a manicure. I guess I'm a 'do it yourself ' kind of gal and I can gratefully thank my mother for that.

Lady Nails. Located in town. I'll be honest. NOT the place where I would have liked to go for my first time (not as spa like as I would prefer). BUT! Katrina made my fingers and toes look like a million bucks. She was sweet and made sure my experience there was a good one. Will I go back? It's not close to where I live, but if another deal was offered I'd do another manicure there- gives me a good excuse to stroll around town, shop a little, have a latte and relax-which is exactly what I did that day. Using my GroopBuy coupons is fun because I make a day of it and it's honestly something to look forward to! Who doesn't like saving money while choosing a fun activity or yummy place to eat! It's a lifestyle I'm trying out and so far, so good.
